Place base on flat non-porous “clean” surface, such as Formica. To lock base, turn suction cup lever from right to left. This will create a suction which locks base on to the flat surface. To release the base, pull lever up. If necessary, lift suction pad with finger to help release any remaining suction pressure. Slide Food Guide onto hopper. The Food Guide helps to position the food perpendicular to the cutting cone blades to ensure best cutting results. To attach cutting cone blades, place center hole in cone blade on center pin of clutch plate. Turn handle clockwise to engage disk lugs into six holes of cone. Check to make sure handle turns easily and cone is secure. To remove cone, reverse procedure. CAUTION: This is a precision cutting instrument and the edges of the cutting cone blades are very sharp. USE EXTREME CARE WHEN HANDLING. Place bowl directly under the slicing cone to catch food. |

Helpful Hints Feed firm vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, and cucumbers with your fingertips. Anchor you thumb and little finger on the sides of the hopper. Do not feed with thumbs, palm of hand or “baseball bat” grip. Use fresh, crisp foods for best results. You can peel while you cut fruits or vegetables with hard skin such as onions, pumpkin, hard squash, avocado or melons. Place the peeling side against the hopper and cut with the #2 Julianne cutting cone. For soft foods like hard boiled eggs or soft cheese, gently press food against the cutting cone while gently turning the handle. The Food Guide has been designed to make cutting easier, enabling you to make perfect cuts of fruits and vegetables while eliminating waste. It can be used with all cones, but is especially recommended to be used when slicing with the #4 Slicer and the #5 Waffle cutting cones. Attach the Food Guide to the Kitchen Machine by sliding it onto the hopper until is securely fastened (see video). To remove, slide the guide toward you. Do not twist or pull Food Guide upward. To ensure even cuts, guide the food directly into the cutting cone, holding it upright and perpendicular to the cutting cone, resting the food on the front edge of the Food Guide. Exert a slight downward pressure as you turn the handle at a consistent speed.

Care and Cleaning Although your Health Craft Kitchen Salad Machine food cutter is Dishwasher Safe, we recommend hand washing. The extremely high-heat drying cycle of modern dishwashers can damage the suction cup. Before first use and after each subsequent use, thoroughly clean your food cutter with a damp, soapy cloth and rinse with warm water. To retain the mirror-like finish, dry with a soft cloth. As with any high quality cutlery, dishwasher use is not recommended as the harsh detergents can dull the cutting cone blades and the overall finish of the unit. Cutting Cone Blades: Cones are easily cleaned by holding them under warm running water immediately after use. Do not leave cutting cones in water or stack them together when wet. Thoroughly towel-dry the cutting cone blades immediately after washing. As with other fine cutlery, the keen cutting edge of the stainless steel blades may show signs of discoloration or corrosion if not thoroughly towel-dried. If this should occur, simply remove the discoloration or corrosion with a Scotch-Brite or similar mild scouring pad. Caution: As with any precision cutting instrument, the edges of the cutting cone blades are very sharp. USE EXTREME CARE WHEN HANDLING. Base: The base and suction cup pad may be wiped with a damp cloth. Occasional cleaning of the suction cup pad will prevent residue build up and help ensure consistent suction pressure. Do not wash the base or the suction cup pad in a dishwasher. |

During the 50-year Lifetime Warranty period, any defective part will be repaired or replaced without charge.
